Dreaming of Louboutin Shoes

This is the shoe I'm in love with right now.

Unfortunately it's a Christian Louboutin, and that means $745 for a pair.

The sad part, is that even at 50% off, these shoes would still be too expensive!

I find it a lot easier to spend money on a handbag than on a pair of shoes.

And it's not just because I am more of a bag lady...

I think it has to do with comfort.

Only one handbag has ever hurt me: it was a tote made of hard leather, with a rough zipper protecting a tight opening. It felt like the bag would bite me every time I slid my hand in and out of it.

Plenty of shoes, instead, have made me cry after a few hours of wearing them.

The last thing I want to do is spend $800 and buy a pair of uncomfortable shoes.

Celebrities swear by Charles Louboutin shoes, but then again celebrities don't walk much (how long is the red carpet, 100 yards?).

So I am very curious to know how comfortable these Louboutin really are.

But even going to the store to try them on it's not going to give me an idea of their comfort: it usually takes a couple of hours before the beauty pangs attack my feet.

So, until the day that I will be able to "test-drive" a pair of Louboutin, or even better, be able to afford a pair, the only way I can get a pair of red-soled shoes on my feet is if I...

Thankfully, looking and dreaming are still free of charge..

Haha! I love that last picture! When I was seeing those pics of Angelina Jolie in the nude Louboutin pumps, I soooo wanted a pair (yes I'm an Angie girl). I tried finding knock offs even, but nothing looked quite as nice as her simple nude pumps. Seems like such a basic thing but it just wasn't the same.

I wear Louboutins almost daily (as an editor in Manhattan they're pretty much a part of our uniform). The thing is, expensive shoes actually do feel better than cheap ones. I can easily walk from Midtown to Soho in Louboutins and Prada shoes. Also, I'll let you in on a quietly kept fashionista trick: buy your shoes 1 size too big, take them to a cobbler and have them put extra padding in to fill up the excess space. Voila! Your $800 shoes feel like a pair of $100 Nikes.

Thank you, Fab!
That's what we needed, an expert's opinion.
I understand some heels can be comfortable, I have Aldo boots I can run with.

I didn't know about Louboutin and yours is great news!

Thank you for the tip, it makes sense.

I hope you realize you're a lucky gal to need such a uniform for work! :)

Please let me know if you need an assistant (I see you wear Prada, too, but I'm not afraid). ;)
