As promised, here is the new giveaway for this week: a sexy pair of jeans from Rivet de Cru Jeans!

This is the Claudia style, straight leg jeans with some very interesting details on the back!

I've received a pair to review, and to give away to my readers, and you can't imagine the frustration at not being able to try them on! You know with my pregnant belly and all...

But even if I can't try them on, I can still tell you all the reasons why you will want to own such a gorgeous pair of jeans:

1) the material is thin and very soft on the skin, which is something I personally prefer over hard and stiff jeans

2) all the rivets are not your usual boring flat metal ones, but they pop out and have a central black stone that looks pretty cool

3) you also have these rivets on the V shaped belt loop on the back

4) the signature on the back pockets is in raised gold studs

Rivet de Cru Jeans is a relatively new brand, founded in 2007 and based in LA. I say relatively new because the owner and designer, Ruben Dario Campos, is far from new to the business, having over 18 years of denim sales and design. So you know he must know a thing or two about jeans, and from the look of this cool pair sitting next to me, I can testify that he does!

fashion disaster: allover pink

I think I've said this a couple of times before: as much as I love pink, I don't go out wearing allover pink!

One thing I've realized is that life is a big circle:

1. we are born girls and they dress us head to toe pink, and that is part of our first memories

2. there is a middle phase were we rebel against everything, pink included

3. a phase where we can't wear too much pink since the husband/boyfriend/son will abuse us to no end

4. a last phase, when we don't care about what anybody else thinks, and we go back and embrace that pink we missed so much!

Unfortunately, this last phase puts us in the fashion disaster category! Remember her?

green spender: safe earphones

So this is what happens when you are pregnant... you start questioning everything you eat, breathe, wear and touch.

One of my latest discovery is the toxicity of iPod headphones.

I always thought that those cute little white headphones could put your life in danger: if anybody wanted to steal an iPod, all they had to do was look for the person wearing the white gummy headphones and then rob them!

But now I've found out that these headphones are really toxic, as in bad for your health:

"The two most abundant phthalates in the headphone cables of both the iPhone and the iPod are those classified in Europe as 'toxic to reproduction: category 2,' as a result of their ability to interfere with the sexual development in mammals, especially in males". Greenpeace Report.

So now I listen to my music with different earphones:

Not only are these much more fashionable (black goes with everything!), but they are made of premium stainless steel alloy and fabric cables, so nothing toxic goes in my ears or close to my head.

shick quatto trimstyle razor

Schick Quattro is already my favorite razor, but now I am really curious to try their new product: the TrimStyle.

It comes with the usual blades on one side, but it has something extra going on on the other side, by the handle: a trimmer!

I think this is a great idea, and if the trimmer works like it should, I am so switching to the TrimStyle!

fashion disaster: big and flashy

If you have ever asked yourself this question:

I hope you didn't think that wearing a big flashy belt on top of your clothes was the correct answer.

spring hot colors

Sephora sent me an email today, asking me if I knew which two colors I must have this spring.

Since I don't much like suspense, I just opened the email, without trying to guess, and ta da!

Hmm, I'm not sure if I am happy about the coral, but I do love the hot pink. But then again, who is Sephora to dictate these winners?

So I deleted the email and read my next one. From my tennis apparel store:


Ok... got it... but let me do one more check... oh I see... we do have the coral and the hot pink here too. I guess it's confirmed: Hot Pink and Coral it is!!!
