Happy New Year! Now let's get Married!

Happy New Year! :)

I hope this 2011 brings us joy, peace and happiness!

And by the way, another big theme for NY Spender in 2011 will be "wedding".  ;)

I've actually kept the secret from you because I wasn't ready to plan for the wedding yet, but he actually proposed last year for Valentine's Day!

Well, now I'm ready (the new year is always invigorating!) and I would like to have the wedding this summer by the beach, other than that, it's all up in the air.

If anybody has been through it recently, please feel free to throw pieces of advice my way.

Let the madness begin!  ;)

Big wedding or small?

Congratulations!!! I have one piece of advice. Get a wedding day coordinator!

I know the perfect wedding coordinator. :) Wonderful news. I wonder how you will dress Kaitlin. Pretty in pink, if she has anything to say about it.

Maria, thank you. You can say that's the longest secret I've ever kept! ;)
The ring is exactly how I wanted it, simple and perfect! lol (I'd given him hints here and there, and he listened)

Anny, thank you. I wish the same to you!

Soos, thank you! Oh definitely small wedding. I really wanted to be intimate and tiny, but we need to have the immediate family, which should bring the number to not more than 30 I hope.

Pixelant, thank you. As for the coordinator, I will try to do things on my own. I coordinate parties for the company I work for, so I have some experience. Wish me luck!

Daisy, thank you. Oh I know that coordinator too, I wonder if she would fly from CA to NY to help me out (she probably would!). Yes, Kaitlin would want a pink dress, and if she doesn't change her mind from now until then, she might just get it. :)

Ohhhh congratulations! I know for my wedding I wish I hadn't stressed so much. :) Ours was pretty small and I would have made it even less 'structured'. We burned CDs for the reception and had my brother emcee the reception. I kind of liked it because we chose every bit of music!
