Happy Birthday to Me! Now I want Boots!

Today was my birthday! Yay! Well, not really "yay" anymore. It's not as fun as it used to be, with the years passing and all that crap... but the good news is I don't have many wrinkles at all, and maybe 2 grey hair (that come and go?), so I can still pass for 6 to 8 to 10 years younger (on days that I've slept through the night)!

I have to get myself a present, and I've been craving a nice pair of boots. I have many winter boots in my closet, from rain boots, to snow boots, to suede boots, to black tall boots, to booties... but of course I have to start lusting after the pair I don't have.

What boot am I looking for? Not quite sure yet. I have a general idea on my mind, something with no heel, between edgy and classic, probably black, maybe combat but not too combat, if you know what I mean. Basically something I can wear every day with jeans and pants in general.

What is funny is I had a dream last night where I was telling my hubby that I wanted to get a pair of Dr. Martens. In reality, I never liked Dr. Martens, especially their yellow threading around the sole. But now that I've started looking online for these boots, I'm afraid to say that Dr. Martens has some of the closest thing to the boots I'm thinking of. Something like this:

Which has a softer look in brown:

But I'm not quite sure yet. I think I need to go out and try some on...

What do you think about Combat Boots for the "way-past twenty" crowd?

Happy Birthday to YOU, Spender! I don't think age determines boot style, so go for it! If it were in my budget, I'd go for these refined Docs: or these sporty ones:

I own 3 pairs of boots: rubbers that I haven't worn in 5 years (the spring when it rained 40+ days straight!), black suede Steve Madden booties that I got for barely $20 and a new pair from Avon(!) for less than $40: These are cute, too: Yes, it does rain in Hawaii. It rained today!

Thank you Soos. :)

All good choices.

Those last boots are cute! I wouldn't think of Avon when thinking about boots, but look at that!

I'm still looking...

Hello Spender,

Happy Birthday to you!!! Caitlin must be your most treasured present in the world. Nevertheless boots are important too, especially if one has craving for them. The ones you picked out are fab, they look like they can withstand alot of vigorous walking or hiking. When keeping up with a tot one must wear comfy shoes/boots.

I suffered a setback on my way to Fashion Capital. Racing around for hours at Dodger Stadium while wearing a bad pair of shoes gave me nasty blisters. Using antibiotics to treat the venemous little excrements is unwelcome. I couldn't wear shoes since that night, not even now! I get around outside on a special slippers and crutches. Buy good shoes, even if they are more costly. Wish me luck that my poor foot regains its pre-injured state. Please do consider Spender's shoes, they look attractive and comfortable. And, they don't look like ogres that kidnap children in the middle of the night

OUCH, Daisy! I can sort of imagine your foot pain. My own feet are very tender I was ready to leave for my pedicure, when the strap on the thongs I planned to wear lossened. I put my feet into another pair which set me to limping. One of the straps cut into the side of my foot and it blistered. When I have a chance, I'll need to buy a comfortable pair!
