Banana Republic for MAD MEN

Oh, I missed it last time around, but not again! Banana Republic has, once again, collaborated with Mad Men costume designer, Janie Bryant, to create a limited edition "Mad Men" collection.

Today, March 1st, 2012, the collection has unveiled at Banana Republic, and while I'm not thrilled with the prices (lots of $150), I do like a few things, like the rose print cardigan

that I would have to wear with the cigarette pants, to get the full "Mad Men" effect:

I'm not particularly fond of any other pieces (you can say a bit disappointed), but I think that because of my love for MAD MEN, I gotta get at least something.

I was really looking forward to this collection and I have to give it to Banana Republic for teaming up with Ms. Bryant again, and coming up with really cool advertising ideas (Gap is starting to follow, too). Do you know how they promoted this launch yesterday? On a Virgin America flight! Yes, on a plane. They had a little catwalk going and also a few bloggers on board to tweet and then blog about it - Why, oh why I never get these amazing opportunities? I must be doing something wrong  :(

Which brings me to the next point I wanted to make: I want to fly Virgin America! They seem to be the coolest airline out there right now (for Valentine's Day they had Chihuahuas on the plane!).

But back to Banana Republic, I do hope they will have a third collection and I hope (where is the suggestion box???) they would include some of Betty's nightgowns! Those I would buy in a heartbeat!

I have been dressing like this for sometime now. I had no clue it is inspired by the 50s. I have a cardigan/jacket, and slacks the same styles, even in similar colors.
