See, the thing is we love perfume, right? We wear it every day. So why can't we take it to bed with us?
The way it dawned on me was by accident (just like most incredible discoveries): I had spritzed perfume (Narciso Rodriguez) on me right before bed for beauty reasons, but I had spritzed a lot and my night shirt had carried the perfume to bed and then transferred it to the sheets. Well, all night, every time I would turn and slightly wake up, I could smell my perfume cuddling and enveloping me, and lulling me back to sleep.
It felt so nice.
I've always used perfume almost everywhere, but never on my sheets. I have a special Dolce and Gabbana perfume I use to perfume the bathroom (I spritz it between the shower curtain and the liner), and I've spritzed the air in the bedroom with Heavenly by Victoria's Secret many times, but never the bed.
I guess that's what Marilyn Monroe was up to when she would say that she only wore Chanel No.5 to bed. Good call, Marilyn, good call.
