The person I am really talking to right now is me. I'm the one that loves to shop around for weeks before picking a dress. Having a toddler has changed a lot of things, one of them being the fact that I can't fit weeks of carefree window shopping in my schedule anymore, so when I need something I need to get it in the quickest way possible, otherwise I might not even get it at all!
My annual office holiday party is next week and I still have no dress. The solution is simple, pick two or three stores and walk in and out, hopefully with a dress.
The first store I plan to check out is Ann Taylor. I am not looking for anything over the top, so one of their dresses should be pretty enough for a party. I would prefer to buy something at the store and not have to deal with shipping (I don't have much time and I want to make sure the dress fits well), but from a first look online they do have some good "online exclusive" choices.
This might be the dress. It's not a plain black dress since it has few different textures that make it interesting. I think I want a black dress this year, to make me look slimmer. I should be able to find it a the store. It costs $198 but I have a 40% discount. :)
This is another black favorite, but it's an online exclusive so I'm not sure if I'm willing to risk it.
One last black option. I like this one because it's simple and it works if you don't want to attract too much attention to your body (can you tell I need to diet?)
I've been wanting to try a one-shoulder dress, and this one in red is perfect. The only problem is that you need nice sculptured shoulders for a dress like this, and right now my shoulders are pudgier than I would like them to be... maybe next year.
If your body looks like hers, totally go for this dress. Me, ha! I need two years now to look like that, and a personal chef and two personal trainers. And a motivational speaker (you can do this! put the burger down!)
This is it for now. I should be able to go to Ann Taylor tomorrow. Hopefully they have my size in stock. If not, it's on to the next brand...
