Reason number 231 why I need to stick with this diet: I loved wearing little dresses like this one, and I was able to (up to maybe 5 years ago)
Now if I would try to wear something like this, I would look so funny and uncomfortable it's scary to even think about it.

Spender! I don't understand why you feel the dress is unattainable! I think you can wear it very well. I think it's a fabulous dress for all of us. There's the "little black dress" underneath a transparent sheath, but not too much so. Go for it!
As I type this, my new Great Dane, Luca, is sleeping on a rug, a very durable rug. He is almost 4 months ago. He is black, with white paws and a patch of white on his chest. I made sure his coat gleamed with grooming and bathing. Like many GDs, he is growing so fast he is wobbling at times when he walks. He is docile and gentle in temperament, Amen, Amen. I am feeling nervous myself, here is a giant companion and little Lily Belle. This is our first night together.

Indulge me, his name is Luca. I got him from a neighborhood where I was quite out of place. I believe Luca was too. We drove home to Lily Belle. Relating to this blog, I find his white paws and patch to be potentially fashionable.

Oh Daisy! You got him! And Luca is a wonderful name! He must be the most adorable thing. Would love to see pictures, if you send one I'll post it to the blog. :)
As for the dress, my body looks NOTHING like the girl's pictured above. I have quite a pot belly I'm trying to get rid of, and in general, I'm a lot more rounded than I would like to be. A dress like that needs a slimmer and proportionate body. :(
Hugs to Luca and Lily Belle
I will send a pic or two of Luca. Not too many, not everyone is as fascinated with him as his owner. Male GDs grow to be between approximately 140 to 200 (!!)pounds. Thank God he is sweet natured. I will likely hire "The Dog Whisperer," not Cesar, another informed person to train him.
I examine his coloring, what bright colors would go with a giant black GD with white trimmings? Fushia? Bright yellow?
I consider this question relevant to fashion. 4 months, 40 lbs. and growing fast.

Daisy, Luca is a boy, so the fushia is out. Bright yellow might make him look like a bee. hehe
I would say for a classic combination go for red. And you could wear matching colors, too! :)
Also, neons are still in this spring, so you could play with those as well, like a green, a purple or a blue.
And, all NY Spender's readers are animal lovers, so we all love Luca! :)
It pleases me to no end to know readers of this blog are fond of Luca, as well as Lily Belle. I agree that fushia and bright yellow would not make a delightful coat for Luca. Imagine a 175 with sleek black coat looking like a girl or a giantic bee. This is why I need to consult the Spender. I believe red or green would look good on him. I have plenty of small coats for Lily Belle, she will be all right.
I have been exhausted this past few days preparing for Lucas. He has his own bedroom, which is the enclosed patio, and his own huge bed. Take care of yourself, don't over do.
