Mel Boteri Handbags

Mel Boteri was officially launched in the fall of 2009 with a small collection of women's custom design handbags. Custom design as in "you design the final product".

The idea was born out the "shopping frustration" experienced by Melanie Mueller, the company founder and creative director, every time she had to fish that special handbag out of the sea of one-size-fits-all marketplace.

Shopping at melboteri.com, customers are able to buy exclusive luxury handbags, like this Lola clutch which I love. Made out of the softest leather, light and just the right size, this bag could easily become my go-to bag for both day and night engagements.

Actually, everyone in my office loved Lola:

Because we found it to be a great office bag, which would also transition perfectly into the night scene (once we let our hair down).

And let's not forget the inside. In my opinion, a luxury handbag can only call itself that if its inside is just as beautiful and refined as its outside. I don't like slipping my hand inside a bag only to find it scratchy or rough. Fortunately, Mel Boteri's attention to detail doesn't stop on the outside, and this is Lola's inside: gorgeous turquoise suede, pleasing to the eye as well as to the touch.

If you don't like Lola, there are plenty more, beautiful handbags at Mel Boteri:

And for the ultimate luxury experience, you can request a personal meeting with a designer to create your one-of-a-kind Mel Boteri handbag, picking from more than 40 different handbag silhouettes and beautiful Italian and Spanish leathers.

That is a knock-out handbag. I would feel a bit self conscious if I took it to the office. I know people are staring at it.
